Ericsson CMXB3 EGEM2
The Ericsson ROJ208392/1 – CMXB3 EGEM2 Printed Board Assembly is an internal high-performance module designed for use within Ericsson Baseband Unit (BBU) architectures supporting multi-standard mobile networks. This board plays a key role in managing high-speed internal data exchange, signal processing, and interface routing between functional modules inside the baseband system. Engineered for continuous operation in demanding telecom environments, it ensures stable handling of control, synchronization, and data traffic required by GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G NR technologies.
The CMXB3 EGEM2 module operates through the system backplane, utilizing optical and electrical connections to deliver efficient internal bandwidth and reliable transport of timing signals. Its design supports advanced synchronization methods such as IEEE 1588v2 and SyncE, enabling precise timing distribution across the BBU. Powered by a standard –48 V DC telecom supply, the board maintains low power consumption while providing high throughput performance of up to 200 Gbps. Robust construction and compatibility with Ericsson radio platforms make this module a critical component for maintaining high network availability and optimized baseband processing.
