Huawei UMPTe1
The Huawei UMPTe1 is a Universal Main Processing and Transmission Unit (UMPT) designed for use in Huawei BTS3900, BTS5900, and other SingleRAN base station platforms. It serves as the central control and processing board within the baseband unit (BBU), managing baseband signal processing, transmission interfaces, O&M (operation and maintenance), and communication with remote radio units (RRUs). The UMPTe1 integrates advanced digital signal processing and control functions, ensuring efficient data throughput, low latency, and high reliability for multi-standard wireless networks.
This unit supports multi-RAT technologies, including GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G NR (via software upgrade), enabling operators to deploy flexible, converged networks under Huawei’s SingleRAN architecture. The UMPTe1 handles scheduling, resource allocation, and protocol stack management across multiple carriers, while providing CPRI or eCPRI interfaces for RRU connectivity. Its modular design ensures compatibility with multiple BBU chassis types and supports scalable capacity upgrades. The board also incorporates redundancy and fault protection mechanisms for enhanced system reliability and service continuity.
