Ericsson Baseband 6630 KDV127621/11
The Ericsson Baseband 6630 (model KDV127621/11) is a high-capacity, multi-standard baseband unit designed to serve as the core processing engine for mobile base stations. It consolidates support for GSM, WCDMA, LTE and is future-ready for 5G NR, enabling operators to run multiple technologies concurrently on the same hardware. As part of the radio infrastructure, the Baseband 6630 handles central tasks such as traffic scheduling, signal processing, synchronization, and coordination with multiple remote radio units (RRUs). The unit is optimized for “main-remote” network configurations, supporting connections to many radio units via high-speed CPRI/backhaul interfaces. Its compact 19-inch, 1U form-factor fits standard telecom racks, while integrated environmental control and a replaceable fan ensure stable operation under heavy load and varying environmental conditions. With multiple SFP/SFP+ ports for optical interconnects, dual 48 V DC power supply, and alarm & management interfaces, the Baseband 6630 delivers a scalable, energy-efficient and future-proof foundation for modern macro or multi-sector cell sites. Thanks to its modular and flexible architecture, operators can deploy large-scale, mixed-technology networks using a single Baseband 6630 — reducing site complexity, lowering power consumption, and enabling smooth evolution as network demands grow.
