Huawei BBU5900
The Huawei BBU5900 is a high-performance Baseband Unit (BBU) designed for next-generation mobile communication networks, supporting GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G NR technologies. It is a core component of Huawei’s SingleRAN platform, enabling unified management and flexible deployment across multiple radio access standards. The BBU5900 provides exceptional computing capacity, low latency, and scalable connectivity for a wide range of Remote Radio Units (RRUs), including the RRU5308, RRU5509T, and RRU5309.
Built with advanced multi-core processors and high-speed interconnect architecture, the BBU5900 delivers high throughput and efficient resource utilization. It supports carrier aggregation, Massive MIMO, and dual connectivity, allowing smooth evolution from LTE to 5G. The unit can manage up to 12 sectors and handle multiple frequency bands simultaneously, ensuring flexibility for dense urban and rural network deployments.
The BBU5900 connects to RRUs via CPRI or eCPRI interfaces and supports multiple synchronization modes, including GPS, IEEE 1588v2 (PTP), and Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE). Its compact and modular 2U design allows easy installation in telecom racks or outdoor cabinets. Intelligent cooling and power management systems reduce energy consumption while maintaining high reliability and long-term performance.
